Adanus History
In the book "Adam's Rib," the Titans are described Adanus
According to Greek mythology, the 'sky god' Uranus, after being defeated in a war against the Titans Adanus and Sarus, founded the city of Adana. Adanus gave his name to Adana, while Sarus named the Seyhan River.
In the book "Adam's Rib," the Titans are described as follows:
"The names of the seven Titans have been given differently by Greek mythologists. Rhea and Kronus, the only pair in each list, ruled over the planet Venus (Friday) and the planet Saturn (Saturday), respectively.
Pausanias' list begins with the Titan Adanus. This (Adanus) is a Greek word meaning acorn. It also bears resemblance to the words Adam and Eden. The acorn had an erotic connotation and was used as the esoteric tree of the ancient Mycenaean dove goddess during rainmaking rituals."
